- Simple freehold purchase: Approximately Ā£1,250 with no mortgage.
- Leasehold property with a mortgage (acting for lender): Generally between Ā£2,000 ā Ā£3,500.
- Fees are exclusive of VAT and disbursements.
- Disbursements:
Costs paid to other organisations or third parties as part of a property transaction.
Common disbursements include:
- Search fees: approximately Ā£350 plus VAT
- Land Registry fee: Ā£20 ā Ā£910
- Official Copy entries and filed plan: Ā£3.00 (per copy)
- Chaps Charge: Ā£25.00
- Lawyer Checker: 12.00
- Priority Search: Ā£3.00 per search
- Land Charges (Bankruptcy) search: Ā£2.00 per search
- AML checks on a Client (an individual): Ā£8.00
- Indemnity Policies: quotes depend on the purchase price and the nature of indemnity policy
- Notice of Charge/ transfer (leasehold only) : Ā£50 ā Ā£250
- Value Added Tax (VAT):
- Our legal fees and most disbursement costs are subject to VAT at the current rate of 20%.
